Tradeshow: AHRA 2009

Digital Element attended the AHRA Annual Meeting and Exposition at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas during the week of August 9th.

AHRA is the Association for Medical Imaging Management, and has hosted the annual meeting and exposition for the last 37 years.

The annual event is an educational and networking opportunity for leaders in medical imaging sciences.

CEO Don McClure and VP of Marketing and Sales E. Emerson Yearwood attended all four days of the expo, taking in the latest in medical imaging technology.  "Attending AHRA was an intensive course in radiology administration, as well as an incredible look at the achievements of the imaging community" stated Yearwood.  Of particular interest to Digital Element were presentations on the challenges of teleradiology, which involves the transfer of images to an offsite radiologist for analysis.

"Highly specialized software is used to transmit images clearly enough for a radiologist to interpret effectively," notes CEO McClure, "Digital Element is actively looking to set the standard higher in graphics processing and image compression, so this is particularly relevant to our research."

AHRA members and associates will convene in 2010 for the 38th annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington D.C. August 22- August 26.
